THE BLESSING OF MINDING YOUR BUSINESS

The Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Whether you are getting excited about celebrating romantic love, platonic love or lives in general, trust me, love is a beautiful thing. It is a factor in healing yourself and the world.

While love is a healing balm, minding your business is a good way to maintaining a healthy mental state.

First off, when you hear the words “mind your business”, what comes to your mind?

Is it a scenario where someone is delving into another’s personal matter and then you scold “mind your business!” and even add a popular Nigerian slang "amebo" (gossip), if you are Nigerian?

Well, if that is what you have in mind, you are not wrong.

However, minding your business could be from two angles: resisting the urge to delve into another's personal matter without their permission and commitment to being focused on your path irrespective of the naysayers.

For you reading this, I am counting on your dignity to respect people’s preferences and privacy. Therefore, the second angle of wanting to get approval from everyone before accomplishing your dream, will be the center of this piece.

You need to realize that as we differ in faces, so do we in preferences, beliefs, choices, just to mention but a few. The ability to respect another’s shade of red that is different from your shade of blue (figurative) is love. It is very likely that you will encounter people who do not have this understanding.

So, this could help.

Instead of cancelling your dreams, seeking approval from everyone, surround yourself with people that could give you constructive criticism. These people are helpful enough to suggest workable solutions and implore the right approach.

Also, instead of itching to hear what the naysayers are saying to prepare for a verbal war, focus on your goals. Mind your dreams.

When you mind your business, you experience the blessing of productivity, growth, wisdom, abundance and a sound mental health.

Beautiful people, it is a new week and you owe it to yourself and others to experience the blessings that come from minding your business. That way, we will be unified as a coat of many colors, not color riot.

YOU ARE LOVED.
